Bella Psychological & Wellness Services was founded with one mission: to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care that treats the whole person—not just symptoms.

As the first private practice in Brevard County to integrate mental health, wellness, weight management, academic assessments, forensic services, and nutrition under one umbrella, we offer a level of coordinated care that is rarely found in outpatient settings. Our approach recognizes the powerful connection between mind, body, performance, and long-term health.

Our team includes nationally certified clinicians with advanced expertise in forensic mental health, child custody and competency evaluations, psychoeducational and psychological testing, and complex clinical case management. We work with individuals, families, attorneys, courts, professionals, and organizations who require not only compassionate care—but clinical precision.

We specialize in trauma-informed, solution-focused, and results-oriented treatment. Whether supporting a child through behavioral challenges, guiding a family through high-conflict transitions, helping an executive optimize performance, or providing court-ready evaluations, our work is grounded in science, ethics, and measurable outcomes.

As the needs of our community evolve, so do we. We are committed to innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and expanding access to integrated psychological and wellness services across Florida.

At Bella, care is not one-size-fits-all. It is strategic, personalized, and designed to help our clients build resilience, clarity, and lasting change.

  • Psychiatric Medication Management: When therapy alone isn’t sufficient for conditions like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or personality disorders, we coordinate with prescribers to integrate medication into your treatment plan.

  • Wellness Services: We take a holistic approach to mental health care, recognizing that factors like nutrition, sleep, and physical health directly impact your psychological well being.

Forensic Mental Health & Evaluation Services

Nella Ciciulla-Albrecht serves as a court-appointed forensic evaluator for the 18th Judicial Circuit, bringing certified expertise to legal proceedings throughout Brevard County. Her CFMHE (Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator) credential represents specialized training in conducting objective evaluations for the court system. As one of a small number of CFMHE-credentialed evaluators in Brevard County, Nella brings a level of forensic specialization rarely found in private practice settings.

Our forensic mental health services include:

  • Custody Evaluations and Parenting Coordination: Objective assessments to assist courts in determining parenting plans and time-sharing arrangements in family law cases.

  • Competency Evaluations: Court-ordered assessments evaluating an individual’s competency to proceed with legal matters.

  • Psychosexual Evaluations: Comprehensive assessments for cases involving sexual offenses or related legal questions.

  • Expert Witness Testimony: Professional testimony in court proceedings based on forensic evaluation findings.

  • Criminal Mitigation Evaluations: Assessments that provide context regarding mental health factors relevant to criminal sentencing.

  • Substance Abuse Evaluations: Evaluations addressing substance use disorders and their impact on legal matters.

Forensic evaluations require strict neutrality and adherence to Florida legal standards. Per Florida Administrative Code, evaluators cannot serve dual roles—meaning if someone has been your treating therapist, they cannot also conduct forensic evaluations in your case. This separation protects the integrity of both the therapeutic relationship and the legal process.

Our Therapy Process

Step 1: Initial Consultation

Your first therapy session focuses on understanding where you are and where you want to go. We conduct a comprehensive assessment of your mental health history, current symptoms, and how life challenges are affecting your daily life and relationships. This is also your opportunity to ask questions, explore whether we’re the right fit, and discuss your preferences for in-person or online therapy.

Step 2: Personalized Treatment Planning

Based on your assessment, we develop a customized treatment approach. This includes selecting appropriate therapeutic modalities (CBT, EMDR, play therapy for children, family therapy when appropriate), setting realistic goals, and determining session frequency. Most clients attend weekly or bi-weekly appointments.

Step 3: Active Therapy Sessions

Regular therapy appointments—typically 50-55 minutes—provide consistent support as you develop coping skills and work through mental health concerns. Sessions may include skill-building exercises, processing past experiences, homework between appointments, and involvement of family members when beneficial for treatment.

Step 4: Progress Monitoring and Adjustment

We track your progress throughout treatment, using both your feedback and clinical assessment tools to ensure therapy remains effective. If you’re not seeing the improvements you expected, we adjust our approach. The goal is always meaningful progress toward the life you want—not therapy for therapy’s sake.

Frequently Asked Questions

What insurance do you accept at your Melbourne office?

We accept several major insurance plans for individual therapy and psychiatric medication management, including CHAMPVA, United Healthcare/OPTUM, Blue Cross Blue Shield (Lucet), Cigna/Evernorth, Aetna PPO, Meritain, and Oscar. We are not providers for Medicare or Medicaid.

Before your first appointment, we recommend verifying your insurance coverage and understanding your benefits. Our staff can help you navigate this process. For those without in network coverage or who prefer greater privacy, we offer self-pay options and can discuss out-of-network benefits.

Couples and family therapy sessions are self-pay only.

What is the difference between a therapist and a forensic evaluator?

A therapist’s role is to provide treatment—supporting your mental health, helping you develop healthy coping skills, and working toward your personal goals. The therapeutic relationship is built on trust, advocacy, and your best interests.

A forensic evaluator serves an entirely different function. Their role is neutral and objective, conducting assessments to answer specific legal questions (such as custody recommendations, competency, or risk assessment). Evaluators write reports for courts, may testify as expert witnesses, and must remain impartial rather than advocating for any party.

Florida law requires separation between these roles. A mental health professional who has treated you cannot then serve as a forensic evaluator in your case, and vice versa. This protects both the integrity of your treatment and the objectivity required for legal proceedings.

Do you offer therapy for teenagers and adolescents?

Yes. We provide specialized individual therapy for teens and adolescents addressing the unique mental health challenges young people face: school-related stress and test anxiety, social anxiety and peer relationships, family conflict, identity development, and trauma.

Our approach is age-appropriate, often involving family members when beneficial while respecting the adolescent’s need for privacy and autonomy. For younger children, we may incorporate play therapy and other developmentally appropriate techniques.

No referral is needed to begin therapy. If you’re seeking treatment, reaching out is the hardest step—and we make what comes next as simple as possible.
